Journaling in Exchange Server 2007

Journaling in Exchange Server 2007 has been enhanced with new features. Exchange Server 2003 offers a new approach to journal specific recipients, distribution lists, or public folders.
Exchange Server 2007 provides four levels of Journaling scope:
1)  Internal scope journals messages sent only between internal recipients.
2)  External scope journals messages sent to or from the selected recipient and the outside organization.
3)  Global scope journals all the messages for selected recipients.
How to create Journal Rule
  1. Click on Start > Programs and then Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
  2. Click on the Exchange Management Console (EMC).
  3. Expand Organization Configuration, and then click on Hub Transport.
  4. Click on Journal E-mail Address tab on the right side.
  5. Right click on the white space and click on New Journal Rule.

6.  Enter any Rule name, click on Browse tab to select the e-mail address to which Journal reports will be send, select any Scope. You can also click on the Journal messages for recipient checkbox to select any particular user for journaling.
