Remote domain feature in Exchange Server 2007 allows administrators to override
settings for the messages transfer between your organization and
outside your domain. Administrators can apply message format policies
and acceptable character sets for messages sent between your
organization and remote domain.
- Allow none option does not send any out-of-message to the remote domain.
- Allow external out-of-message only option deliver only those out-of-office messages that are configured as external in Microsoft outlook 2007 or by using OWA for a mailbox that is located on an Exchange Server 2007.
- Allow external out-of-message, and out-of-office messages sent by Outlook 2003 or earlier clients or sent by Exchange Server 2003 or earlier servers includes the above feature and also supports Outlook 2003 or earlier clients, regardless of the Exchange Server version.
- Allow internal out-of-message, and out-of-office messages sent by Outlook 2003 or earlier clients or sent by Exchange Server 2003 or earlier servers delivers out-of-office messages that are configured as internal by an Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003 or earlier clients regardless of the Exchange Server version.
How to create a New Remote Domain
- Click on Start > Programs and then Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
- Click on the Exchange Management Console (EMC).
- Expand Organization Configuration, and then click on Hub Transport.
- On the Right side, click on Remote Domains tab.
- Right click on white space and click on New Remote Domain...
6. Enter any Name and Domain Name in the fields.
