New Features in Exchange Server 2007




  1. Exchange Management Console: New Exchange Management Console (EMC) has been introduced and old console has been totally gone. 
  2.  Exchange Management Console: New command line scripting shell has been provided to configure Exchange Server from the command prompt.
  3. Active Directory site-based routing: Routing groups are no longer supported in Exchange Server 2007. Routing can now be configured by using Active Directory sites.
  4. Unified messaging.
  5. Highly availability: Gone are the days of active/active or active/active clusters which need a lot of cost and applications. Two new solutions has been introduced: Local Continuous Replication (LCR) and Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR). Active/passive node has been renamed to Single Copy Clustering (SCC).
  6. Antivirus and Anti-spam features: Edge Transport role is responsible for preventing spam messages from entering in your exchange server. The Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) has been removed from the Exchange Server.
  7. Support for Outlook Anywhere (replaces HTTP over RPC)
