Standby continuous replication (SCR) is a new feature which was introduced in Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1.
SCR uses the concept of active and passive copies where database and log files path will be the same on the source and target. Â Source
SCR will always have a Active copy where as Target SCR will have
aPassive copy. The source SCR can be any storage group, except a recovery storage group on any of the following:-
· A Clustered mailbox server in a SCR environment (Single Copy Cluster)
· A clustered mailbox server in a CCR environment (Cluster Continuous Replication)
· A Standalone mailbox server (with or without LCR enabled)
The followings are the requirements that Source and Targets must have:-
· Active Directory Domain must be same.
· The Operating System must be same.
· Exchange Server Service Pack 1 must be installed on the both.
· One source can have multiple targets and one target can have multiple sources.
· The Target must have Mailbox Server role installed.
very informative blog on the continuous replication. I appreciate the time taken for putting extra effort for adding valuable info.
